Rs 80-crore parking complex at Yeshwantpur APMC in Bengaluru gathers dust before opening

A Rs 80-crore multi-level parking complex at Yeshwantpur APMC in Bengaluru remains locked and unused months after being handed over to the APMC committee in early 2024.

The eight-storey structure plus two underground floors shows rusting railings, water seepage, peeling paint, and cobwebs, indicating deterioration before opening.

Four rounds of tendering failed to attract any operator; prospective bidders cited the monthly rent of nearly Rs 18.5 lakh as too high to sustain operations.

The APMC committee repeatedly modified tender conditions based on bidder feedback but still could not find a taker, leaving the project in limbo despite severe parking congestion in the market.
