19-year-old arrested for killing his sister in Gautampuri

A 19-year-old man, Mohammad Anas, was arrested for shooting his 32-year-old sister Waseema dead in northeast Delhi's Gautampuri area.

The incident occurred on Friday following a family dispute over Waseema's marriage to her friend Irshad a few months ago.

Police found Waseema with a gunshot injury on her abdomen and declared her dead at the scene.

Anas was intercepted on Saturday in Chauhan Bangar area with a country-made pistol and six live cartridges, and confessed to the murder.

He was charged under Section 101 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant sections of the Arms Act.
