Ukraine deploys combat robot via sea drone in unprecedented assault on Russian-held Kinburn Spit

Ukraine's 123rd Territorial Defence Brigade conducted the world's first fully unmanned amphibious combat raid on Russian-held Kinburn Spit.

An unmanned surface vessel carried a Ukrainian-made Rys unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) armed with a 7.62mm PKT machine gun to the shore.

The UGV deployed onto the beach and fired at a target from the shoreline; no damage or casualties have been confirmed.

The mission was monitored by an aerial drone, integrating sea, land, and air unmanned systems.

Analysts suggest the raid may have been a test of Russian defenses and a demonstration of new operational concepts.
