Panvel Police Arrest Five In ₹2.29-Crore Land Fraud; Deceased Owners Allegedly Shown Alive Using Forged

  1. Panvel City Police arrested five people for forging documents to show two deceased landowners as alive and fraudulently sell their 47-guntha plot at Karanjade for ₹2.29 crore.

  2. The plot was owned by Nathan Eliyahu Chincholkar (died 2011) and Shalom Eliyahu Chincholkar (died 2016); both had lived in Israel.

  3. Prime accused Suraj Vasudev Shinde had his father impersonate Nathan and brother-in-law Manish More impersonate Shalom, and forged PAN and Aadhaar cards.

  4. The forged documents were used to execute a sale deed in favor of builder Prashant Patekar and his son Shreyas Patekar.

  5. The accused were arrested from Goa, with one from Colvale Central Jail and another from Shirdhon, after five months on the run.
