Two tankers carrying Saudi oil for India exit Red Sea by going 'dark': Report

Two tankers carrying Saudi crude for India exited the Red Sea by sailing 'dark' after Houthis announced a blockade on Saudi shipments.

Suezmax tanker Amazon, chartered by Indian Oil Corp, loaded 1 million barrels; Aframax Rodos lifted 700,000 barrels for Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd.

Both vessels switched off Automatic Identification System transponders around July 22 and headed south through Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

The Rodos is expected at India's Mangalore port on August 1; the Amazon at Chennai in early August.

Indian refiners have switched to Middle East cargoes on a delivered basis since Houthi attacks on Saudi tankers.
