Bengaluru man promised govt job, duped of Rs 26 lakh

A 36-year-old Bengaluru man, GK Raghunandan, filed a complaint alleging he was duped of Rs 26 lakh by four men who promised him a government job as a panchayat development officer.

The main suspect, Santosh Hosamani, claimed to have connections with the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) and demanded Rs 50 lakh for the job.

Raghunandan paid Rs 10 lakh in cash in December 2024 and later Rs 16 lakh more, but received no job offer and Santosh began avoiding him.

A person claiming to be 'Rao' called from a KPSC landline number multiple times to assure Raghunandan the job was guaranteed.

Police have booked a cheating case against Santosh Hosamani, Rao, Mahesh Kumar, and Basavaraj.
