Ugandan farmer Mukiibi steers Slow Food beyond its Italian roots

Slow Food movement was founded in 1986 by Carlo Petrini in Rome.

Edward Mukiibi, a Ugandan farmer, now leads Slow Food beyond its Italian roots.

The movement initially protested the arrival of Italy's first McDonald's.
