A day after Waris Punjab De supporters stormed Chandigarh, police booked MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali and 14 others for disobeying a public servant's order and other offenses.

An FIR said 2,500-3,000 supporters, led by party leaders, reached Gaushala Chowk in Sector 45, blocked the road, and disrupted traffic while raising slogans and carrying posters of Amritpal Singh.

Police repeatedly informed protesters that prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita were in force and urged them to move to a designated protest site, but they refused to disperse.

Armed with swords, axes, spears, and sticks, protesters allegedly attacked police, broke barricades, climbed a water cannon vehicle, damaged its nozzle, and assaulted its driver.

ASI Gurjeet Singh suffered a deep hand injury and was treated at Government Multi-Speciality Hospital, Sector 16; demonstrators reached the Sector 7-8 roundabout, minutes from Punjab governor's residence, causing security concerns and traffic disruption.
