FBI's wanted fraudster arrested overseas; Khalid Ahmed Satary was on the run after $547 million Medicare fraud

Khalid Ahmed Satary, 54, was arrested overseas and extradited to the US for a $547 million Medicare fraud scheme.

Satary was indicted in 2019 for fraudulently billing Medicare for expensive genetic tests from 2016-2019.

He was released on a $4.5 million bond but continued fraud with Houston labs, then fled the US in December 2022.

The FBI placed him on its Most Wanted list with a $150,000 reward; a fake Mexican passport was found upon arrest.

Satary faces charges including health care fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering, with up to 20 years in prison.
