Chief Justice of India Surya Kant said the Supreme Court may hear a plea on the closure of metro stations if authorities fail to act.
Supreme Court Bar Association president Vikas Singh highlighted that the closure of the Supreme Court metro station by police severely affected access to the court complex.
CJI issued administrative directions to authorities to find a solution, and said the court may intervene if not resolved by lunchtime.
Singh proposed allowing lawyers and registry officials to use the station with proximity cards and screening.
CJI also issued an administrative circular directing no adverse orders for lawyers unable to appear due to commuting difficulties.
