Punjab Police seek transit remand of Ajnala attack accused nabbed on Indo-Nepal border

Punjab Police filed a transit remand application for Vikramjit Singh, arrested near the Indo-Nepal border in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh.

Vikramjit is wanted in the 2023 Ajnala police station attack case in Amritsar, Punjab.

He was arrested by Rupaidiha police and 42nd Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) while allegedly attempting to flee to Nepal.

US national Manbir Singh and three local facilitators were also arrested and remanded to judicial custody.

The chief judicial magistrate in Bahraich deferred the hearing on the transit remand plea; it is expected next week.
