A year later, Panchkula DC’s 3-day potholes repair promise falls flat

Panchkula deputy commissioner Satpal Sharma promised in September 2025 that all potholes would be repaired within three days, but the promise remains unfulfilled a year later.

Unrepaired potholes on roads such as near Sector 6 civil hospital and Mansa Devi Temple cause waterlogging, accident risks, and mosquito breeding grounds.

The delay is attributed to jurisdictional confusion: service lanes were transferred from the municipal corporation (MC) to the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA), which has failed to maintain key stretches.

Temporary fixes like filling potholes with bricks at the Sector 17/8 roundabout highlight the inadequate response from civic agencies.
