NASA's Anil Menon embarks on 8-month sojourn to International Space Station, with drawings made by Indian kids

NASA astronaut Anil Menon launched on Soyuz MS-29 from Baikonur Cosmodrome for an 8-month mission to the International Space Station.
Menon is an emergency medicine physician and US Space Force colonel, born in Minneapolis to Ukrainian and Indian immigrants.
He will conduct scientific research and technology demonstrations to advance human space exploration and benefit life on Earth.
The rocket carried drawings made by Indian schoolchildren, winners of the 'First Forever' competition honoring Yuri Gagarin's flight and Russia-India space cooperation.
Menon joins Expedition 75 crew including NASA astronauts Jessica Meir, Jack Hathaway, Chris Williams, ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonauts.
