Saif reveals why Bhardwaj refused him for Omkara

Saif Ali Khan was offered the role of Langda Tyagi in Vishal Bhardwaj's Omkara after a phone call following his mother Sharmila Tagore's suggestion to do Shakespeare.

Vishal Bhardwaj initially refused Saif for the role of Othello, saying he was 'too handsome to play Othello'.

Saif's performance in Dil Chahta Hai convinced Bhardwaj to cast him as Langda Tyagi.

Ajay Devgn played the role of Othello (Omkara) in the film.
