BNCMC Faces Administrative Crisis As 954 Posts Lie Vacant, Promotions Stalled Since 1996

Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporation (BNCMC) has 954 vacant posts out of 4,189 sanctioned positions, with promotions frozen since 1996.

Only 10 of 60 Class II posts are filled, and 1 of 45 Senior Clerk posts is filled, forcing officials to hold additional charge.

Over 500 sanitation workers are on desk duties due to staff shortages, disrupting governance.

BNCMC began recruiting 182 employees, but staff say reviving promotions is equally crucial.

A proposal to amend Service and Recruitment Classification Rules has been submitted to the Maharashtra government to restart promotions.
