Woman, 18, murdered by parents in UP's Shamli over opposition to her relationship

An 18-year-old woman named Hina was allegedly strangulated to death by her parents Ahsan and Gufrana in Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh.

The parents were opposed to her relationship with a youth, which led to the murder.

Police initially registered a case based on the father's complaint alleging murder by a youth, but investigation revealed the parents' role.

Ahsan and Gufrana confessed to strangling Hina and then hanging her body to simulate suicide.

Postmortem examination did not confirm suicide, strengthening murder suspicion.
