Bhiwandi Booth Level Officer Faces Criminal Proceedings For Negligence In Voter Roll Revision Exercise

Booth Level Officer Ananta Shivram Gare of Bhiwandi faces criminal proceedings for failing to distribute application forms to eligible voters during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

The complaint against Gare, a clerk with the Bhiwandi Nizampur City Municipal Corporation, was investigated by Assistant Electoral Registration Officer Vinod Manore.

Action is initiated under Section 32(1) of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, which penalizes neglect of election duties.

The Election Department is strictly enforcing accountability in the voter roll revision exercise across Maharashtra.
