Bill McGinley missing: What happened to Lafayette cyclist? Latest update as Boulder County Coroner takes over case

William McGinley, 72, a former University of Colorado Literacy Studies professor, was reported missing after a bike ride from Lafayette on Wednesday morning.

He was last seen at 8:40 am near Eisenhower Drive and West South Boulder Road in Louisville, heading toward Harper Lake and Coyote Run Trail.

Louisville Police confirmed Thursday afternoon that McGinley had been located, but details of where or circumstances were not disclosed.

The case was turned over to the Boulder County Coroner's Office, though officials have not said why.

Police no longer ask for public assistance, and no further information was released as the investigation continues.
