Opposition MPs take out march in solidarity with protesters

Opposition MPs from Congress, SP, TMC, Left parties, RJD, Shiv Sena and others took a candlelight march to Gandhi Smriti in solidarity with protesting students.

The march followed a dharna outside the PM's residence two days earlier where police forcibly evacuated protesters.

Rahul Gandhi said they marched to remember students who died after the NEET paper leak and to stand with those beaten while demanding justice.

Congress's P Chidambaram questioned why roads are barricaded and police mobilized, asking what the government fears.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge rejected PM Modi's assurance, saying students don't need platitudes after pellet guns and tear gas were used on them.
