Heavy rain in J&K: Salal dam gates opened as Chenab river swells

Heavy rain in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi and Rajouri districts has caused the Chenab River to swell.

Authorities opened the gates of the Salal dam on the Chenab River in response to the heavy rain.

Authorities issued advisories urging residents to stay away from rivers and avoid non-essential travel.
