HC dismisses petition in Jauhar University matter after govt contests maintainability

Allahabad High Court dismissed a petition filed on behalf of Mohammad Ali Jauhar University after the government contested its maintainability.

The court ruled that the petitioner, businessman Mohammad Yusuf, was not an official of the university and therefore could not represent it.

Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamshery refused to hear the matter, finding merit in the state's objection.

Meanwhile, the Moradabad Divisional Commissioner granted interim relief to the university, staying demolition of 38 buildings until final hearing.
