Mumbai Special POCSO Court Sentences Repeat Child Sex Offender To Life Imprisonment In 2022 Assault Case

A 34-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Special POCSO Court for sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl in 2022.

The accused was previously convicted in two cases of raping minor girls below age 12, receiving 10 years of rigorous imprisonment in 2011.

The court refused leniency, citing the accused as a habitual offender with no reformation despite prior imprisonment.

The victim was threatened and taken to a building terrace on October 19, 2022, during the assault; the case was registered at Tilaknagar police station on the mother's complaint.
