Nashik: Dr Venkat Gite Appointed Vice-Chancellor Of MUHS

Dr Venkat Shahubai Arjunrao Gite, Dean of Government Medical College, Nashik, appointed Vice-Chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences.
Appointment announced by Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma for a five-year tenure.
The post had been vacant since Lt. Gen. Dr Madhuri Kanitkar's tenure ended on October 14, 2025, with Prof. Sanjeev Sonawane holding additional charge.
Dr Gite earned M.S. (General Surgery) in 2001 and DNB (Urology) in 2010, and previously served as Professor and Head of Urology at Government Medical College, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
He played a key role in launching the Cadaver Renal Transplant Programme and is a member of the Maharashtra Government's advisory committee on organ transplantation.
