Kushinagar court awards death penalty to man for killing wife, 3 children

A Kushinagar court sentenced Jitendra Kushwaha to death for murdering his wife Leelawati and their three sons Akash, Vikas, and Rinku.

The murders occurred on the night of August 25, 2021, when Jitendra allegedly slit the throats of his sleeping family with a sharp-edged weapon.

Additional district and sessions judge Parmeshwar Prasad convicted Jitendra, also imposing a fine of ₹2.01 lakh.

The court described the case as 'rarest of rare'.

The motive was prolonged domestic disputes linked to Jitendra's alcohol addiction.
