Kolkata Weather LATEST Update: No Heavy Rain Today, North Bengal Under Red Alert

The India Meteorological Department stated the low-pressure area over north Odisha, Jharkhand, and Gangetic West Bengal has weakened, reducing heavy rainfall in South Bengal.

Kolkata, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, and Howrah will not receive heavy rain on Saturday; intermittent light to moderate showers and high humidity are expected.

A red alert is issued for Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar in North Bengal for heavy to extremely heavy rain, with an orange alert for Darjeeling, Kalimpong, and Cooch Behar.

Continuous rainfall has caused river levels to rise above danger in North Bengal, with risks of flooding and landslides in hilly areas.
