Vivek Oberoi recalls shoe incident before Company

Before his breakout role in Ram Gopal Varma's Company, Vivek Oberoi had a shoe thrown at him during a college theatre competition at Mithibai College.

He had expected a lead role due to his awards and family background, but was cast as a guard with no dialogues.

During the performance, his casual attitude—leaning on a spear—led an audience member to throw a shoe, hitting his shoulder.

The incident taught him to approach every performance with sincerity, regardless of role size, and became a turning point in his career.
