Nearly a year after SC directions, Panchkula yet to notify stray-dog feeding zones

Panchkula has not notified stray-dog feeding zones nearly a year after Supreme Court directions in August 2025.

Panchkula Municipal Corporation shifted over 1,500 aggressive stray dogs to a shelter in Sukhdarshanpur village.

Municipal commissioner Vinay Kumar said the MC sterilised around 1,800 of 2,000 targeted stray dogs under a one-year contract.

Dog bite cases remain high; civil hospital in Sector 6 receives 20 to 22 patients daily.
