21-year-old dies after ambulance oxygen runs out in MP; probe ordered

Ajit Baraiya, 21, of Sunhara Mal village, died on July 27 while being transferred from Bamhani Hospital to Mandla in Madhya Pradesh's Mandla district.
His father alleged the ambulance oxygen cylinder ran out during the three-hour journey, leading to respiratory failure; a video showed the gauge at zero.
Mandla collector Rahul Namdev Dhote has formed a four-member committee to probe the incident and submit a report at the earliest.
Ajit had been suffering from a severe kidney ailment and was referred to the district hospital with oxygen support.
Congress MLA Jaivardhan Singh demanded a high-level inquiry into the 108 ambulance services, citing negligence.
