Sudan drone strike on Darfur court kills 35, rights group blames army

A drone strike on a traditional court in Garra al-Zawaya village in North Darfur killed at least 35 people, according to the Emergency Lawyers group, which blamed the Sudanese army.

The strike occurred around 1:00 pm local time while local hearings were being held under a tree; a witness said four tribal leaders and two RSF commanders were among the dead.

The village is under control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), who have been fighting the Sudanese army since April 2023.

The RSF's self-declared government condemned the attack, claiming 37 dead and 50 injured.
