HC slams Malur judge, says judicial office doesn’t permit arrogance

Karnataka High Court criticized Malur civil judge N Gayathri for alleged arrogance in a road rage incident.

Judge Gayathri is accused of reprimanding a young motorist KM Vinay, ordering police to beat him and file an FIR.

Vinay, his mother V Kavita, and grandfather P Venkatesh were arrested after a complaint by the judge.

Justice M Nagaprasanna stayed the investigation against the three, stating the judge's conduct betrays required standards.

The matter has been referred to the Chief Justice for appropriate action.
