15kg heroin seized in Amritsar during Operation Prahar 4.0

Punjab Police seized 15.503 kg heroin, 970 gm opium, and 695 intoxicating tablets during Operation Prahar 4.0 in Amritsar on July 21-22, 2026.

people were arrested, including 226 accused in old criminal cases and 123 anti-social elements, under the direction of DGP Gaurav Yadav.

Raids targeted villages along the Indo-Pak international border, drug hotspots, and public transport hubs to curb cross-border smuggling and drone-based narcotics deliveries.

Recoveries included 24 pistols, 26 magazines, 60 live cartridges, six stolen motorcycles, and a drone; 72 NDPS Act cases were registered.

DIG Harmanbir Singh Gill stated that intelligence-based operations will continue to make Punjab drug-free and crime-free.
