Gurugram: 8-hour power outage leaves Sector 99A residents sleepless

A snapped 66kV transmission conductor near Harsaru caused an eight-hour power outage in Gurugram’s Sector 99A on July 19, 2026.

The outage affected seven housing societies: Pareen Lakshmi, Pareena Coban, Habitat 99A, Cosmos Express 99, Assotech Blith, Habitat Prime, and Pareena Elite.

Residents were without power from around 8 pm Saturday to 4 am Sunday, forcing them to endure humid conditions after inverter backups ran out.

Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) deployed repair teams immediately but faced criticism from residents for poor infrastructure and lack of communication.
