Intensity rises at Commanders training camp during first the padded practice

Washington Commanders held their first padded practice of training camp on Monday in Ashburn, Va., with coach Dan Quinn emphasizing competition.

Quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Terry McLaurin connected for two touchdowns, including a toe-tapping grab in the red zone, during the session.

New tight end Chig Okonkwo caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Daniels and is expected to have a significant role in offensive coordinator David Blough's system.

The offense had its best day of camp, with the team focusing on red zone packages.
