GMDA asks MCG to halt dump yard work at Sector 107 STP site

GMDA has asked MCG to halt construction of a dump yard on land earmarked for a sewage treatment plant (STP) in Sector 107.

GMDA purchased the land from MCG and floated a tender for the STP project under the Yamuna Action Plan.

An MCG contractor excavated around one acre of the site for the dump yard, despite GMDA's request to stop work.

The one-acre plot where the dump yard is proposed will hinder development of the STP due to uneven terrain.

GMDA plans to construct a 500 MLD STP in two phases at Sector 107 to serve Sectors 81 to 115.
