Pune Court Ends 12-Year Marriage After Husband, Jailed In Alleged ₹6 Crore Scam, Agrees To Divorce

A Pune family court granted divorce to a woman whose husband is in judicial custody in an alleged ₹5-6 crore investment fraud case.

The husband consented to the divorce via video conferencing from jail.

The couple married under the Special Marriage Act in 2014; the woman alleged mental cruelty, physical harassment, and that her husband transferred money to another woman.

The husband allegedly cheated 40-50 investors by promising high returns through stock market investments.

District Judge Mahendra Jadhav dissolved the marriage after finding the husband neglected his wife and subjected her to mental cruelty.
