Mohali: Two constables injured as suspected drug smugglers open fire during checking

Two Punjab Police constables, Paramjit Singh and Jagjit Singh, were shot in the thighs by suspected drug smugglers during a vehicle check on the Landran-Banur Road near Saneta village in Mohali.
The anti-narcotics cell set up a naka following a tip-off and intercepted a car around 4 pm; the suspects argued with police and called associates before opening fire.
Police sealed entry and exit points in the area and launched a manhunt; multiple teams have been formed to identify and arrest the accused.
Evidence including CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined; a case was being registered at the time of filing.
