Maharashtra Rains: Woman, 4 Children Including 1-Month-Old Baby Rescued From Flooded House In Jalgaons

In Gurukrupa Colony, Amalner, Jalgaon, a woman and four children including a one-month-old infant were rescued by Health Department and Fire Brigade personnel after floodwater from an overflowing nullah entered their house.

Rescue personnel carried the infant in a plastic tub with a tube ring through waist-deep waters, while protecting it with an umbrella.

Jalgaon district recorded 104 mm rainfall, with Jalgaon city receiving 118 mm; heavy rain affected 13 of 14 talukas.

The Tapi River is in spate, prompting authorities to open all 41 gates of Hatnur Dam; Girna Dam reached 100% capacity with six gates opened, and all 10 gates of Aner Dam were opened after a major flood.
