Sonam Wangchuk's wife takes a swipe at Bollywood while praising The Odyssey: ‘Need to rediscover its role’

Gitanjali Angmo, wife of activist Sonam Wangchuk, praised Christopher Nolan's film The Odyssey on social media.

Angmo met Nolan in New York in 2024 during the film's conceptual stage.

She suggested Bollywood should rediscover its role as a 'classroom' by adapting Indian epics with 'scale, sensitivity and intellectual depth'.

The post follows controversy over Aamir Khan denying knowing Wangchuk during the making of 3 Idiots.

Wangchuk had been on hunger strike demanding education reforms and resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
