Haryana approves code of ethics for govt land valuation

Haryana government approved a code of ethics for empanelled valuers to ensure fair, transparent, and accountable land valuation under a 2021 policy.

Violators may face de-empanelment, forfeiture of valuation fees, and a penalty of up to ₹1 lakh depending on the gravity of the violation.

Valuers must comply with laws including the Haryana Land Revenue Act, 1887, Indian Stamp Act, 1899, and Right to Fair Compensation Act, 2013, among others.

A key provision mandates a conflict-of-interest declaration before any valuation assignment; the code will be reviewed every two years.
