Thrown into battle in two weeks': Russia plans 500,000-strong mobilisation, Ukraine claims

Ukraine claims Russia plans to mobilise 500,000 personnel in autumn 2026.

Andriy Kovalenko of Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation said some conscripts may be sent to the eastern front within two weeks of training.

Kovalenko said Russian officials Sergei Kiriyenko and Valery Gerasimov assured leadership the mobilisation would secure a military advantage.

Ukraine's military intelligence says Moscow is suppressing discussion of mobilisation to avoid political risks before State Duma elections.

Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service reported Russia signed 195,000 military contracts, short of its 204,500 target, and estimated Russian losses in 2026 at 196,700.
