DA hikes: From Finance Ministry to railways and banks — Here's a look at all the dearness allowance announcements so far

The Union Finance Ministry announced a 2% DA and DR hike for central government employees and pensioners, raising DA from 58% to 60% of basic salary effective 1 January 2026.

The Indian Banks' Association (IBA) revised DA and DR for workmen and officer employees for May, June, and July 2026, hiking basic salaries between ₹48,000 and ₹1,17,000 and DA from ₹435 to ₹1,050.

Indian Railways announced a 2% DA and DR hike for its personnel.

West Bengal hiked DA by 20% last month, effective October, to close pay gaps with the central government.

DA is reviewed twice a year, with announcements typically in March and October, and rollouts in July and January.
