Odisha CM Mohan Majhi announces ₹110 crore flood relief

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi announced a ₹110 crore initial flood relief package after heavy rains killed at least six people and affected over 860,000 people across 22 districts.

Under the package, families with completely destroyed houses will receive ₹1.2 lakh, while partial damage compensation ranges from ₹3,000 to ₹8,000 for homes, thatched houses, and cowsheds.

Farmers will get ₹8,500 per hectare for rain-fed crops, ₹17,000 for irrigated land, and ₹22,500 for perennial crops.

Next of kin of each of the six deceased will receive ₹4 lakh under State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) norms.

Odisha deployed 199 rescue teams, including 20 ODRAF, 7 NDRF, and 172 fire service teams.
