SML Mahindra shares surge 15% on Rs 525 crore slump sale

SML Mahindra share price jumped 15% on Thursday after the company approved the acquisition of Mahindra & Mahindra's Truck & Bus Division via a Rs 525 crore slump sale.
The acquisition aims to create a unified commercial vehicle platform within the Mahindra Group, combining Mahindra Truck & Bus and SML Mahindra.
The transaction was approved by the boards of both companies on July 29, 2026, with a target completion date of January 31, 2027.
The combined entity will have a broader presence across light, intermediate and heavy commercial vehicles, including buses above the 3.5-tonne category.
SML Mahindra shares saw their highest trading volume since July 14, 2025, with over 121.29 lakh shares traded.
