Ariana Grande withdraws from London musical, seeks to 'step back'

Ariana Grande withdrew from the Stephen Sondheim musical 'Sunday in The Park with George' at London's Barbican theater, where she was set to star opposite Jonathan Bailey in summer 2027.

Her representative said she wants a 'step back' from public-facing work and appearances after her 'Eternal Sunshine' tour wraps in London on September 1.

The show's producers confirmed her decision on the official X account, stating the show will go ahead and casting will be announced later.

Fans have expressed concern for her health after the release of the music video for 'Petal', and Grande has previously called body-shaming comments 'really dangerous'.

Grande is set to appear in the comedy 'Focker-in-Law' opposite Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro, due in theaters in November.
