BJP Leaders Give Conflicting Statements on Pimpri-Chinchwad Water Cut

BJP leaders in Pimpri-Chinchwad gave conflicting statements on whether the 15% water cut will be withdrawn.

Pawana Dam has filled to 100% capacity due to heavy July rainfall, but the Water Resources Department requires it to remain at 100% until October to revoke the cut.

Mayor Ravi Landge and Leader of the House Prashant Shitole clarified that only the process to revoke the cut has been initiated, not a final decision.

The alternate-day water supply, introduced in November 2019, will continue until water from the Bhama Askhed project becomes available.

Civic officials have been directed to follow up with the Water Resources Department to seek approval to end the 15% cut.
