Elena Erkhova, known as Baba Lena, an 83-year-old grandmother from Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, fulfilled her lifelong dream of traveling to around 20 countries.

She funded her travels by selling flowers, knitting handmade clothes, and saving her modest pension.

Her journey went viral in 2016, inspiring millions with the message that it is never too late to pursue a dream.

Baba Lena was born in 1927 and spent most of her life in Krasnoyarsk, unable to travel earlier due to financial and political restrictions.

After her story went viral, supporters and travel companies helped fund some later trips, but she continued to travel modestly.
