Vegetable-Laden Tempo Used To Smuggle Khair Timber; Forest Department Seizes Vehicle In Virar

The Forest Department seized a Tata Intra tempo in Medhe, Virar East, carrying 77 logs of khair timber hidden under vegetables.

The timber volume measured 1.284 cubic metres, valued at ₹14,892.

The driver escaped during a pre-dawn chase, and a search operation is underway.

The seizure followed a tip-off about illegal timber transport through the Medhe area.
