Sahar Police registered a case against Mehjabeen Mohammad Imran for criminal breach of trust after she allegedly misappropriated valuables worth ₹14.42 lakh sent from Dubai.
The valuables, including two 50-gram gold bangles, a 50-gram gold chain, an iPhone 16 Pro, an iPhone 17 Pro, and a laptop, were entrusted to her by Dubai-based businessman Umar Rajput for delivery to his wife Kausari Rajput.
Mehjabeen arrived at Mumbai International Airport on June 30 but failed to hand over the items to Kausari Rajput and her brother-in-law, later disappearing with the luggage.
The complainant's attempts to contact Mehjabeen failed as her phone was initially disconnected and later switched off, and she did not return to her Trombay residence.
