Punjab highlights women’s role in anti-drug campaign as families drive addiction recovery

Punjab Government highlights women’s role in its Yudh Nashean Virudh anti-drug campaign, with mothers, wives, and sisters supporting addiction recovery.

Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh said the campaign places families, especially women, at the center of the state's anti-drug strategy.

At an awareness programme in Moga, women like Ragini Kaur and Balwinder Kaur shared personal accounts of helping family members undergo de-addiction and achieve sobriety.

The government noted that addiction places emotional, financial, and social burden on women, and families are recognizing substance abuse as a medical condition.
