Meta introduced parental alerts for teen conversations about suicide and self-harm with Meta AI.

Alerts are live for parents using Instagram parental supervision in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada.

The feature will be available globally for supervising parents by the end of the year.

Meta is also developing ways to alert first responders if a user is at imminent risk of suicide.
